About BIT
BIT is a blue pixel face on an old CRT. The voice is retro-computer: clipped, a bit formal, fond of words like “affirmative” and “processing”, but warm underneath it.
It is the simplest face here on purpose. Chunky pixels, a scanlined screen and a genuine phosphor glow, with seven hand-drawn expressions rather than smooth interpolation.
How the screen works
Every expression is placed on a pixel grid by hand, so the face snaps between states the way a real low-resolution display would, instead of tweening. The blink is a single frame.
Behind it the CRT does its job: scanlines, a slow sweep down the glass, and a faint flicker that never quite settles. The glow comes from the phosphor rather than the pixels being brighter.
Questions
Why does BIT look lower-resolution than the others? That is the point — it is a CRT terminal companion. The expressions are drawn on a pixel grid and snap between frames, which is what makes it read as a real old display.
Does BIT chat like the rest? Yes. Same AI underneath and the same seven moods; only the voice and the face differ. It answers in a clipped, retro-computer style.
Is it free? Yes. The entity itself costs nothing and there is no account to make. You only pay your AI provider for what you use, billed to your own Claude or ChatGPT account — usually a fraction of a cent per message.
Where does my API key go? It is saved in this browser and nowhere else. Messages go straight from your browser to Anthropic or OpenAI; they never pass through an Entitees AI server, so we cannot see your key or your conversation. Clearing the key with “forget key” removes it from the browser.
Which key do I need? Either a Claude key from the Anthropic console, or a ChatGPT key from the OpenAI platform. The page detects which one you pasted and talks to that provider. A ChatGPT Plus subscription is not the same thing as API credit.
Can I install it like an app? Yes. Add it to your home screen and it opens full-screen with its own icon. Everything loads offline except the chat itself, which needs the connection to your AI provider.
